Did You Know About Data Science Consultations?

Perhaps you have participated in our data science workshops. But did you know we also provide free 1:1 data science consultations?

Anyone can schedule consultation appointments, and we regularly chat with faculty, staff, and students. During consultations, you can talk with us about pretty much anything related to data science. Topics range from broad questions such as how you should approach learning data science to more specific questions such as what statistical test you should use for your data science project.

Consultations also provide us with information about your learning needs, and we often create workshop materials based on questions we see during consultations. For example, the consultation questions I regularly encounter related to data wrangling in R directly led to the creation of our R for Data Manipulation workshop.

To schedule a consultation, go to the Data Science Initiative page on the UCSF Library website. Scroll down a little to the descriptions of our team members to learn more about our individual areas of expertise. To book an appointment, select Book Appointment and select a time that works for you.

We are looking forward to chatting with you more (virtually) during consultations.
