Accommodation

The Library has a variety of services to accommodate patrons with disabilities.

Efforts have been made to make our building, our website, and our resources accessible to everyone. Library staff assistance will be provided for those activities that you are not able to complete on a self-service basis; however, the library cannot guarantee provision of services on demand.

Please plan ahead for assistance with special services. Contact us with any questions you have, or call (415) 476-2336 in advance for best service.

Library Material Verification and Retrieval

Staff at the Service Desk can assist you with verifying call numbers. Generally, 5 citations per day can be readily verified. Service Desk staff will determine if it will be possible to pick up materials for you that day. In some cases, you may be asked to put requests in priority order. If you request that materials be picked up, they will be pulled and be placed on the hold shelves at the Service Desk. Due to limited staffing it may take up to 24 hours to get your materials pulled.  You will be contacted by the library via email when the materials are ready for pick up. If materials are not picked up within 3 days of the notification, the library reserves the right to reshelve them to make them accessible to other library users.

Photocopying

Staff at the Service Desk can assist you with photocopying at self-service rates. How quickly materials can be photocopied will depend on the Service Desk staff’s current workload and the amount of material you need copied.
