UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Medical Library Services Reopened

We are pleased to announce that the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), the UCSF Foundation, and Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland have signed an agreement appointing the UCSF Library to manage the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Medical Library operations and resources. The UCSF Library assumed management as of February 1, 2023, and this includes the staff library space and digital resources available to current employees. Please note that patient and visitor library spaces at UCSF Benioff Oakland are not included in this agreement.

The UCSF Library has appointed the Director of Education and Clinical Research Services, Holly Thompson, MLIS, to support clinical research at the UCSF Benioff Oakland Medical Library. Holly will work closely with employees and learners at UCSF Benioff Oakland to provide clinical support in diverse areas of library services, including scholarship and clinical research, through consultation and educational services. Holly is excited to modernize operations in alignment with the UCSF Library organization. Furthermore, she will seek efficiencies in services, systems, and resources through proactive innovation and collaboration.

We look forward to this collaboration between UCSF Benioff Oakland and the UCSF Library. Additionally, we are excited to reinvigorate the collection, strengthen the link between UCSF Library systems, and serve as a resource for faculty and trainees.
