Carvey – the 3D Carver

We are excited to announce that we have added a new piece of equipment to the Makers Lab! Carvey is a 3D carving machine, also known as a CNC router, that uses a subtractive process to create 3D sculptures and anything you can imagine. Below are two examples of projects created on the Carvey.

Some mediums that Carvey can work with are:

  • Machinable Circuit Board Blanks
  • Delrin (thermoplastic)
  • Expanded PVC (foam sheet)
  • Machinable Foam
  • Machinable Wax
  • ABS (thermoplastic)
  • Acrylic
  • HDPE (high density thermoplastic)
  • Hard and Soft woods 
  • Aluminum
  • Corian (solid surface countertop material)
