In December 2022, we made the difficult decision to discontinue the library’s online subscription to the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) manuals for 2023.
The AHA moved these online manuals to a different platform and, subsequently, the access and pricing models changed drastically. The library was quoted an unsustainable price increase and the AHA was unwilling to compromise to make the transition financially viable. We understand that these manuals are imperative to prepare for critical certifications. The library has begun purchasing print copies of the most recent editions. Print copies are now available to check out for 14 days from the service desk at the Parnassus library:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
