The UCSF 3D printed face shield project began on April 1 and concluded on May 14, 2020. During this time, a portion of the UCSF Library was converted into a production center to manufacture face shields for the UCSF hospital in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below is a recap of the project:
The face shield project was a collaboration between the following groups:

The project would not have been possible without the help of volunteers from across the UCSF community. A key component of production was smoothing and sanitizing the face shields, which required many hours of volunteer time.
