New Class: Building Online Courses on the CLE with Moodle 2

New: Walkstations Available in Library Tech Commons
The Library recently installed two walking workstations, or Walkstations, in the Tech Commons on the 2nd floor. Combining a height-adjustable work surface and a low-speed treadmill, the Walkstation lets you walk comfortably, burn calories, and feel more energized while working at a computer.
See our new Walkstations in action, or come to the Library Tech Commons (CL240) to try them out.

UCSF Launches Open Online Courses on January 28
On January 28, UCSF will launch its first two MOOCs – Massive Open Online Courses – on the Coursera platform. MOOCs are a way to make select UCSF educational content available to the world, increase visibility as an educational institution, and experiment with new types of teaching and course delivery methods. Coursera, which launched in 2012, has partnered with top-tier universities around the world to help develop and deliver MOOCs.

Open Access Explored! with Jorge Cham of PhD Comics
Please join us online or in person on Thursday, January 17th at 12:00 noon in the Pottruck Auditorium in Rock Hall at the Mission Bay Campus for a conversation with Jorge Cham, the creator of PhD Comics. PhD Comics’ video, Open Access Explained!, has over 120,000 views on YouTube and has sparked the interest of countless students and scholars.
