Journals Being Considered for Cancellation
Every fall, the UCSF Library reviews its journal subscriptions as part of the renewal process for the upcoming year. Due to the severe UC budget crisis, the rising cost of electronic journal and database subscriptions, and the demand for electronic access, we must identify savings through the reduction of print subscription costs.
For 2012, we are nominating 141 print journals for cancellation. With the exception of two print-only subscriptions, only the print versions would be discontinued -- all would remain available online to the UCSF community.

New Site-Specific Sculpture in Library Stairwell
The UCSF Library is thrilled to announce the installation of a three-story sculpture by acclaimed artist Sarah Sze in the Parnassus Campus Library's south stairwell. This dynamic piece has been described by the artist as a "suspended spinning metropolis" and can be experienced from the exterior or interior of the building.

Extended Access to Library Computer Lab at Mission Bay
The UCSF Library is pleased to announce the opening of additional off-hours study space on the Mission Bay campus for UCSF students. Effective immediately, the computer lab (CC151) immediately adjacent to the Mission Bay FAMRI Library will be open all hours that the Rutter Community Center is open: Monday – Friday, 5:30am to 10:00pm; weekends and holidays, 7:30am to 8:00pm.
