Faculty Enrichment Event on Open Access
Please join the Library and the Chancellor’s Council on Faculty Life for a panel event, Open Access: a New Era in Publishing. This is the first of three events on the topic of scholarly journal publishing.

New: Reserve Group Study Rooms Online
The UCSF Library is excited to launch a new system that will allow UCSF students to reserve group study rooms for collaborative study and group projects. Starting January 23, students may book a group study room in the Parnassus Library through our online reservation system.

TLC Classroom Technology Workshops: February 8, 2012
On February 8, the UCSF Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) will host free, in-person workshops focusing on technology in the classroom.
In Made for Learning: iPads in Health Sciences, participants will learn and explore how iPads can facilitate collaboration, content creation, and distribution.
In TLC Classroom Technologies A-Z, participants will become familiar with the technologies in the TLC classrooms.

The Better Presenter: New Blog Offers Tips and Resources
The UCSF Library has launched a new blog called The Better Presenter. Inspired by the in-person workshop of the same name (formerly Presentation Zen), the blog provides news, tips, and insights to help UCSF faculty, students, and staff become more effective and engaging presenters. In the blog, we will discuss new techniques, identify examples of great presentations, share learning resources, and incorporate the teachings of industry movers and shakers.

Class Schedule Available Through March
The class schedule for January - March 2012 is now available. The Library continues to offer free training in PubMed@UCSF, Wiki@UCSF, EndNote, RefWorks, and the CLE.

Parnassus Library Now Open on Saturdays
We are extremely pleased to announce that the Parnassus Campus Library will be open on Saturdays once again as of January 7, 2012. Saturday hours for 2012 will be 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Continuation of Saturday hours beyond 2012 is contingent on future funding.
