Training and tutorials in using bioinformatics and genomic tools


The entire catalog of bioinformatics and genomics tutorials from OpenHelix is now available to UCSF researchers. This suite of tutorials enables you to learn how to use bioinformatics and genomics tools at your own pace.

OpenHelix is a web-based search and training portal that provides researchers with one place to find and learn how to use bioinformatics and genomics resources. There are over 100 tutorials on bioinformtics and genomics resources including BLAST, Cytoscape, DAVID, dbGaP, Ensembl, Galaxy, GEO and STRING. View a full list.

These narrated tutorials run about 60 minutes and can be viewed end-to-end, or by navigating to specific chapters. Tutorial materials including slides, handouts, and hands-on exercises are also available for download. They're great for novice users who need basic introductory material to get started on a particular resource. They're also useful for more experienced users who want to learn about new or advanced features.
