A L HI-AQ(I i \,B -A. T B.AX (U.K. and Export) Limited rIl ;: .......... . .. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE SOUTHAMPrON ENGLAND TO FROM A.L. Heard Esq. K.J.H. MacLean REF KJHM/FL/32 OTS DATE 5th June 1989 DEL BON AG As you will recall, it was decided to invite representatives of the above Swiss Company to R&D Centre after they had written to us concerning a new product that might be of interest to a tobacco company. As a result, Messrs. A. Stucki and F. Del Bon visited here on 2nd June 1989 and were seen by Richard Baker and me. Their product is, in fact, a form of gas inhaler, the gas that they are concentrating on at the moment being oxygen. The oxygen is stored in a cylindrical pressure vessel at a pressure of 50 bar. A valve unit, operable by a finger trigger or by action of the teeth, permits the user to inhale a predetermined amount of oxygen. Mr Stucki is a psychologist specialising in addiction. He has employed Del Bon AG for the development of prototypes, examples of which we were shown, as well as manufacturing and gas filling equipment. Enclosed herewith you will find an information sheet and photographs of the prototypes. What is on offer initially, for a payment of 350,000 US dollars, is a two months exclusive option. We told Stucki and Del Ban that our first step would be to decide if we are interested in principle in the type of device that they have developed. I should be grateful to learn of your views on this. CD co 4 t. BATCo document for Province of BritiSh Columbia 1 November 1999
