Overall programme - attempt single variable comparisons (i.e. nicotine)
whenever possible instead of complex variables, particularly in
Behaviour & Subjective Testi .
Associated with the above, Del ta smoke chemistry shoul'd be noted to a
greater extent before interpretation of results.
Biological - lean towards inhalation testing but only if ...(delta?)
irritation is noted and equal dosimetry is substantiated between cigarette
candidates. 'Consideration' should be given to cigarette design comparison
in a promotion test (following irritation-treatment). As opportunity
presents. human studies are final choice always.
Nicotine - should be isolated as single variable in all applicable
testing over next year.
Combustion - enhance ph.ysical-organic work to define mechanisms to
better influence modelling. More exact than hypothetical modelling
and substituting test values later.
Novel/Selective Filtration - mechanism and novel studies still attractive
if goal well-defined and serious theory/lead in hand.
lobacco Expansion - if indeed the synergy found is real, then an interesting
concept is in hand and next objective should be more commercially attractive
agents within the theory. Should continue for the next year and re-evaluate
then.
Professor Gale Studies - better selection of objectives and procedural s,
if possible. One reported study left a lot to be desired.
Consumer Behaviour - early on in our studies, why does smoker take next
cigarette (multiple!) and can he articulate his observations of sensations
or changes as he smokes it?
Irritation - cleaner chemical definition, even if multifaceted. What is
different between sensory smooth and irritating products. (Single variable
comparison where possible).
Significant changes between first few puffs and last few - chemical and
biological? Also 70ml puffs v 35ml puffs. Specific activity?
Nitrate - ASAP a net recommendation to lower % or not?
Aerosol Generator - need for more representative studies and single
component effects.
Shredded Stem - from current understanding relative to (-)CO and (+)nicotine,
can we maximise these changes?
Benowltz - ventilation turns down as draw pressure increases (more aggressive
puff). (Easier to compensate).

Foamed Research - excellent - looking for all the usual answers. My long %-C
range interest looks for a clean substract 4@ flavor and nicotine; this seems --z
to fit. Holy Grail is mainstream of ... C02, flavor, nicotine!
