DRAFT PRELIMINARY WORKING PRACTICES 1. R. E. T. will act as Chairman of the S. R. G. which would have members chosen from senior experts within the CAC countries. 2. The Chairman will report to the members of the Research Policy Group on the activities of the S. R. G. 3. Members of the S. R. G. will identify specific areas of work and appropriate qualified external personnel/ consultants who could be called upon to comment/advise on aspects of smoking issues. 4. Monitoring of the Scientific Literature will be co- ordinated by a Scientific Information Officer (S. I. O. ) who will identify scientific papers and allocate them -to appropriate personnel. 5. The S.I.O. will be based in BATCo (London/Southampton) as part of the BATCo Corporate R&D function and will be accountable to R. E. T. 6. In addition the S.I.O. will maintain a data base of all internal or external contracts related to smoking issues solely or jointly funded by CAC companies. 7.
