In view oi the imuLlnence of the Canadian election. I thought you might
be Interested to see the attached article from Business International
discussing possible implications if Mulroney suffers a setback at the
polls.
Since the Liberals, and to a greater extent the NUP, are less
sympathetic co busicess and forei6n investment, there are obvious adverse
Implications for BAT, including the indirect eifect of a likely weakening
In the Canadian Dollar if the PC does badly in the elections.
What is less clear is the effect that the election result might have
an legislation relatin3 to the financial Services sector.
