Haslam, Esq. 38 Regent's Park Road Millbrook Southampton S09 1PE England Dear FIred, Thank you for your letter of November 5 with samples of printed polypropylene package. Circulation of your note and -the specimens produced the following comments. Marketing An interesting package innovation but, Canada is a slide & shell and flip top country. Pouch sales account for only 1% of total sales. We should keep up to date with your developments. Perhaps there are other possibilities. e.g. as a carton overwrap, in place of clear cello on S S and flip top packs. R. & D. The package strikes me as not providing enough protection for the cigarettes when compared with our present pouch packages. This could probably be improved with a heavier paper cup but then the cost savings might become less attractive. Moisture protection should be about the same as our present pouches as the cellophane on the latter provides most of the protection. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, I'-, ,& 17 R. M.
