2. Co-ordination of Representation La Overseas Markets=
Tom asked for this to be added to the agenda.
3. International Brands
Mr. Pritchard's paper is restricted to an update on progress in
1990 and does not appear to cover strategies for accelerating
the rate of expansion (ainuts 21).

4. VL International Brands
There are papers an items 4a and 4c buc not on 4b - Progress on US
bland Benson & Rages.
5. Eastern Europe/Now Markets
- The only paper on this item is 5c - Leaf Advisory Tem.
- In addition to updates an programs In Rungary, Bulgaria, Poland.
etc.. issues &rising from the last meeting (ulaute 13) were
setting up the office in Moscow and agreeing brands to be
offered in the USSR (blends and prices).
- Other now markets where investment is under consideration are
Mexico, Turkey, Thailand, lores, Burma and Vietum.

6. Progress on Brazilian Rx"rts

7. Capacity/Rxpansion/Nachinery Orders
There is a paper from Mr. Bramley. At the last useting (minute 32),
it was agreed that there should be an objective group-wide to have
production capacity 20% ahead of the sales budget.
8. Review of Leaf Worldwide
You asked for this icon to be added to the agenda, reviewing the
supply position for Leaf in 1991 and 1992. taking into account the
disruption in Eastern Europe and the us SR . In addition to the paper
from Mr. Br =a ay, Ir. Pritchard and Mr. Rambaut are also due to
report.
9. Proposals for Pumadmomental Research Progrsomme
This is the regular &nn-I review when the TS&T is asked for its views
on the proSrasue, the total budget and the allocation of the charges
to the respective companies.
NOTE: Mr. Bromley has asked whether the other Technical items (10,
12b. 12d, 12a, 12f) could be taken while Mr. Board is still present at
the meeting.
10. Renew of If factivemme at Technical. Lialson
You asked (minute 42b) for town aeabors to review the effectiveness of
the current arrangements for technical liaison and to suggest
modifications to improve the interchange of information and to reduce
duplication of work.
11. Review of Current Trading
At previous meetings, Mr. Broughton has introduced this item by
running through the last quarterly progress report. which has then
been followed by updates for each company.

(c) Marketing Directors' Seminar
I sent you a note on this last week m-Arising suggestions for an
agenda if it were decided to orgamise a further mar km ring directors'
conference.
(4) New Brand Incorporating Y-1 Tobacco
4r. Pritchard is due to report an the assessment of the new brand
incorporating Y-1 Tobacco (minute 62).
(e) Ammonia Treatment
At the last meeting, you suggested that Ammonia Treatmezt should be
known by a code name in future (minute 66) and that a project should
be wat up to characterise the docamposition products of cigarettes
treated in this way (minute 67). There is a paper from. Mr. Brsmley on
this latter point.
(f) Reconstituted Stan
In considering the use of reconstituted stes, you suggested that the
prim consideration should be product enhancement rather than cost
(minute 68).
(g) Blenders Randbook
Mr. Pritchard was due to arrang* for a blenders handbook to be
distributed throughout the Group (minute 64).
(h) Acetate Tow Supplies
Mr. Bramley is due to report an the potential for negotiating with
suppliers on a worldwide basis to secure supplies for the smaller
RAM. companies.
13. Dates agreed for meatings in 1991 are Wednesday, 27th February,
Thursday, 30th May, Friday, 6th September and Monday, 2nd December.
