Very many thanks for all the material which you
have sent in connection with the inclusion of inorganic
fibre in cigar wrappers.
I am passing this on to Sam Evelyn, who in
covering the toxicological aspects which relate to the
inclusion of such inorganic fibres in cigarette tissue
and I am recommending that he contacts Bob Wade for any
further information.
Although it is very much my hope that we can achieve
progress in sidestream reduction without including inorganic
fibres, the news from Ecusta is not that encouraging. There
are alternative approaches, however,and the use of slow-burning
papers with no fibre additives may offer interesting possibilities.
