,It* Additives Register was broaght into operation during 1990. it Ls
cur,rently being updated to include changes in additive useage in 1991, but
it is anticipated that this updating wi.U in Arture be on an ongoing
basis.
The unpredictable nature of Government Requests (on a world wide basis)
for information on additives makes it imperative for the Central Register
to be up to date and the tet:ms of referw= of the Additives and Materials
Guidance Paral have been strengthened to ensure that changes are advised
in advance of being implemented in the market.
M-A additives register is kept under strict security in Saxthampton
(BA7Co, BhTCF, -qot=a Cruz and Iq:exial Tubacco) and in rnuisville (for
Brawn and Williamson brands).
The scientific status of additives whose use is questionable is considered
by the Scientific Research Group which acts as a forum for the views of
panics in tk* BAT Gr3up.
