    EEC Health Warnings I want to confirm for the German
    Domestic Market that the use of grey type rather than
    black which was started by us possess no problems and
    there are no procedural issues involved according to our
    legal adviser Dr. Dreyer. I hope this clarifies any

    Dear Mike,
    BENSON & HEDGES Packaging - German Domestic Market
    With reference to your telefax of October 1st we will
    shortly be sending you the following pack styles:
    - Sample packs of 3 cigarettes (for promotional use)
    - Vending machine packs - 21 cigarettes DM 5.-- (to be
    changed at the end of November to 20 cigarettes
    DM 5. --)
    In the Domestic Market we have a special case size of
    8,400 cigarettes for vending machines now which will be
    changed to 8,000 cigarettes at the end of November. The
    printing on the case is black flexo printing only. The
    enclosed art work will give you an idea. We would
    recommend not to do anything with the design.
    The normal pack is shipped in cases containing 6,840
    cigarettes. The design is very similar to the enclosed
    sample. The "BENSON & HEDGES" is bigger and the line
    "Automaten/2011 is of course not there. Again the C:>
    printing is black flexo printing and we recommend that L~4
    the design which has basically just the words "BENSON &
    HEDGES Filter" is left totally unchanged.

    Concerning the proposed grey type instead of black whicb we
    presently have on front of pack, have you asked the question to
    BAT Benelux who supply B&H for France ?
    We would also have to check with SEITA, our distributors, as
    the onus for pack legality rests with them. A "French" mock-up
    would be useful for this purpose.
