1. The minutes (RPC 16) of the previous meeting
were approved.
2. Mr. Sheehy proposed that the RPC should agree a
set of aims
covering areas of work in R & D. Under each aim,
objcctives
should be stated and the cost of the work
estimated. Progress
towards each objective could then subsequently be
reported
at appropriate intervals. The meeting discussed
this at
length. Dr. Green suggested the RPC would bave to
take care
if it were not to become a managcnient committee.'

Dr. Green and Dr. Felton were asked to propose
aims for the
longer ranged work in each area and to resolve
these into a
set of objcctives with nost estimates for the
coming year.
