Thornton REF RET/LL/46D-6 7th September, 1979 A COMPARISON OF THE HUMAN SMOKING PATTERNS C- X ~qN OF THREE CIGARETTE DESIGNS 4 ~ REPORT NO. RD.1698 RESTRICTED (Project CRICON) This report describes an internal behavioural study in which three cigarettes, with similar deliveries, but with different design features, were examined. The results of the study suggest that one of the cigarettes, with a highly efficient filter, is probably less acceptable than the other two (essentially using either a highly permeable paper or a ventilated filter). Because of the implications in product development I suggest that this report is circulated to members of the M.P.D.C. and to laboratories in the Group.
