"EXAMINATION OF A CONCEPT PROPOSED BY GORI FOR
RATING CIGARETTES"
This Report summarises the work carried out last
year to
assess consumer response to the 'Gori concept' of
'safe'
critical values of smoke intake.
While no country or authority has adopted the
concept to
date, the MPDC in February felt that we should
seriously
explore the marketing potential; two actions were
agreed:
1. The conclusions of the Recort would be
discussed
at the CAC Conference in May.
2. Operating Companies should be asked to give
serious consideration to the Report, and to
any similar concepts, and to consider with
their Public Affairs Departments possible
communication routes to their consumers.
