1. As part of Project SUW, a bland variant
coritaining 15% Y1
tip and cutter grades has been produced along with

othw (ncrk-Yi) blenda. 7tA abgarettm for this
project have
been manufactured and are undergoing full
physico/dmoical
and sensory evaluation. Pasults are expected by

This project is concerned with developing a 7 ng.
TJS Blended
pxv&r-t with the sensory of a full flavour
prodblat.
2. Y1 tcba has used as a significmft blend
comporunt in
Project Greendat 1 vg. delivery pro&cts. Y1 is
seen to be
extremely useful in this project on two courts:
(a) it allow the product tar/nicotine ratio to be
altered
at this low delivery to give a I ing. tar to
0.2-0.3 ing.
nicotine format so enhancing inpact, at ultra low
delivery, and
(b) it is a tcibacco which can be effectively
treated,
retairdng high nicotine levalz and good particle
strand
lwzjth. Becm of these zttr~tes~ blends have been
produced in Greendat with up to 100% Y1 t
Me major drawbiack of Y1 sti I I appears to be the
di-Xly,inting taste and flavour it exhibits
in relation to the Inp%ct it ipports. 7he WC is
waddng on
this aspect by blerxHng other Mavour grades with
the Y1 to
give the b1 I a better sensory/inpact. balance.
