Based on this view, Mr. Par6 suggested that a research program should be developed with the involvement of the above three groups to add to the scientific knowledge necessary to achieve this objective.. The Minister was rather favourably impressed with this idea and sees no problem in the Department of Health supporting such an approach. and posture. If the funding of long-term large projects is required, they would have to take a hard look at the situation. However, he added the "caveat" that if it was not possible to get voluntary agreement in certain areas then "'he would be quite prepared to take whatever action was necessary. The Minister made it quite clear that we can expect con- tinued pressure regarding such proposals as thee showing of T&N on packages and advertisements.
