OVERAT T BUSINESS
In line with the earlier trend, there has been
a5.2% growth over 1990
brou2ht about mainly by the UKB in the domestic
segment. In the export
business, however, USB segment has grown by 27.3 %
in 1991 and has been
contributed by BATUKE.
I)ONIFSTIC BUSINESS
The total domestic business has erown by 7.6 %
over 1990 and between the
two se2ments USB and UKB, UKB showed a higher
growth of 16.1 % and
closed the year with a little over a billion
sticks.
Latin America and Finland had a erowth of 6.5 %
over 1990 but closed the
year with only 159 million sticks.
FXPORT BUSINFSS
The export business in the Virginia segment has
shown a decline of 21.3 %
and ended with a volume of 336. 8 million in 199
1. The USB seement,
however, increased by 27.3 % and closed at 485.5
million sticks.

MAJOR MARKETS
Malavsia
The brand priced at the lower end of the market at
M.$1.40 for 20's ended
the year with 210.7 million sticks and %k-:h a
market share of 1. 1 % compared
to 0.4% in 1990.

T'he brand closed the year with a 429.4 -million
figure and a 0. 8 % share of
imports. The JPS box test market is shcwing
positive signs and starting in

sampling) and Polaroid
promotion in Fukuoka seem to be encounging.
Australia
