REF: WEDNESDAY 08.45 - BAT/ALH Co-ordination of Group R&D Points to be raised include: (i) Assessment of the value of the Group Research Programme database - recognising the differing req,iirements of those engaged in research from those responsible for resource management. (ii) Classification of R&D projects - "Local", "Group-relevant" and "BAT Group Research". (iii) The priority areas of Group research activities will be presented in relative effort terms. (iv) Formal reporting of R&D - data showing reports issued on specific R&D projects by country will be available for comment. (v) The co-ordination role should in future place greater emphasis on strategic issues, defined as those impacting on the continuity and growth of the business.
