Search Services for General Public
Knowledgeable library search analysts use their expertise to search PubMed@UCSF and generate a list of references tailored to your specific interests.
 
 
Policy
Search services are fee-based and must be pre-paid. Fees are not refundable after a search has been processed.
 
The Library cannot guarantee that citations of interest will be retrieved, or that those retrieved will be highly relevant.
 
A UCSF Library Borrower Account is required.
 
Request a Search
Request a Search and Pre-Pay by Credit Card or ATM Card
1.
Complete and sign the Database Search Request Form.
2.
Provide a valid card number with expiration date and signature on the request form.
3.
Fax or mail the completed form to an Information Services Librarian to initiate a search.
 
Request a Search and Pre-Pay by Cash or Check
1.
Complete and sign the Database Search Request Form.
2.
Take the completed form to an Information Services Librarian (Library, 3rd Floor) for authorization and consultation.
3.
Take the authorized form to the Cashier's window (Library Copy Center, 2nd Floor, Room 211). Make payment by cash or check (payable to "Regents of the University of California").
4.
Return the completed form with the receipt to an Information Services librarian to initiate a search.
 
Search Charges
The basic service fee of $35 includes printing up to 50 citations without abstracts or 25 citations with abstracts. Printing additional citations costs $1 per page. California sales tax is charged to all searches.
 
The cost of an individual search is calculated by adding the basic service fee ($35), sales tax, and any additional printing charges.
 
Search Results Delivery
Multiple delivery options of search results are available:
- Pick up at Circulation Desk
- Download to a disk that you provide
- Mail
- Email
- Fax
