To prepare for construction of a new education center on the Library's 2nd floor, we are moving some materials from the collection to a regional library facility located in Richmond, CA. The materials will be moved between April and July 2008. The new education center will integrate the educational computing facilities already housed in the Library with new clinical skills and simulation labs, as well as classroom spaces. This state-funded project is a collaboration among all four schools and the Library to create a state-of-the-art center to support education at UCSF. Construction of the facility will begin in early 2009 and will be completed in spring 2010. As the project progresses, we will share more detailed plans with the campus and publicize events as they affect our library users.

In summer 2008, the Library will move the journals on the 2nd floor to the 1st floor, as well as consolidate our book collections. Details on this move will be publicized as they become available.
