The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) is offering two new workshops: Introduction to Digital Video and Introduction to Elluminate. These free classes, like Building Your First Course with the CLE and Introduction to Podcasting, are open to UCSF faculty, staff, and students.
Introduction to Digital Video covers the basics of using CIT equipment and workstations to create digital video projects. In addition to discussing planning considerations and best practices, the class includes hands-on exercises, such as setting up and using recording equipment, basic editing, and preparing a finished project for distribution. Tools used include Sanyo Xacti cameras, Quicktime, and iMovie. This workshop is limited to 12 attendees, and no prior experience with video editing is required (although having a project in mind during the workshop will help attendees get the most out of it).
Introduction to Elluminate provides a one-hour, online orientation to Elluminate, a web conferencing platform now available through the CIT. Elluminate allows users to present PowerPoint documents, collaborate and share documents, and broadcast presenter audio and video. This online workshop will provide information on creating your own Elluminate sessions and managing users and content within your meetings.
