UCSF ITS has purchased an EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) membership for the campus. ECAR collects and analyzes meaningful information about the use and management of information technology in higher education. Recent studies have covered topics such as information security and the "ECAR Study of Students and Information Technology, 2005." In addition to research reports, ECAR provides overviews of key IT developments and case studies, such as the one published by UCSD on "Increasing Operational Efficiencies Through Business Process Redesign and Analytics."

Registered access to ECAR Research Bulletins and Studies is available on GALEN. To register, simply visit the ECAR website and select the login key at the top of the page to create or manage your profile.
