A New Peer-Reviewed, Open-Access Journal |
On September 30, 2005, the Public Library of Science (PLoS) launched PLoS Pathogens, a new peer-reviewed, open-access journal. PLoS Pathogens aims to publish research on the biology of pathogens and pathogen-host interactions, including bacteria, fungi, parasites, prions, and viruses.
The editorial board includes two UCSF faculty members from the department of Microbiology and Immunology: Donald Ganem, MD, PhD, and Alexander Johnson, PhD. As an open-access journal, PLoS Pathogens is accessible at no cost to anyone with a connection to the Internet and is immediately searchable via PubMed. PLoS is a non-profit organization committed to making the world's scientific and medical research a public resource. PLoS publishes open-access journals of original peer-reviewed research, including the highly-cited PLoS Biology. [back to top] |
