More Journals Automatically Deposit Articles to NIH
The NIH Public Access Policy has been in effect since April. The policy requires investigators to make the results of their NIH-funded research publicly available in PubMed Central within twelve months of publication. An increasing number of biomedical journals are completing this process, thereby ensuring full compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy on behalf of their authors. The NIH provides easy access to a list of these journals, and more journals are added regularly.
Of the many journals that automatically deposit to NIH, journals of particular interest to UCSF authors include PNAS, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry. UCSF researchers are well-published in these journals on a consistent basis. If you have any general questions about the NIH Public Access Policy, or about how to comply with it for a specific journal, please contact the Library's Scholarly Communications group at any time.
