SciVee: A New Way to Share Research
UCSF researchers have a new avenue for presenting their expertise, SciVee.tv. After publishing a paper, you can discuss it in a video "pubcast" designed to smoothly communicate the salient points of your research. Pubcasts combine scientific publications with video and audio files. The corresponding paper is linked from within the pubcast, allowing for easy cross-referencing.
SciVee.tv focuses on articles published by the San Francisco-based Public Library of Science (PLoS). Articles -- and now pubcasts -- published by PLoS are open access, making them freely available to anyone online. SciVee.tv is the product of a National Science Foundation award to PLoS and the San Diego Supercomputer Center. If you have any questions about how to share your work in SciVee.tv, please contact the Library's Scholarly Communication Task Force. [back to top] |
