[Scholarly Communication] 

The Public Library of Science (PLoS) has launched PLoS ONE, an online interactive portal dedicated to presenting the results of scientific research from all areas of biology and medicine in an open access environment.

PLoS ONE will also provide a forum for the discussion of scientific research where post-publication papers can be opened up for interactive discussion, assessment, and annotation by the whole scientific community.

PLoS is a non-profit organization dedicated to making the world's research literature a freely available public resource.
