Japanese Prints: A Shoal of Fishes
Ando Hiroshige, 1797-1858
Hiroshige, known mainly for his picturesque, breathtaking landscapes, also produced prints of subjects including flowers, birds, and fishes. Each print of the 19 exhibited in this show suggests a season, based on the flower or plant depicted and the time of the year traditionally associated with each fish. View a virtual exhibit.

On view in the Parnassus Campus Library's first floor gallery during regular library hours through Spring.
