Music in the Library: Tesla Duo with Stephen Kent

Lange Room Free admission Tesla Duo is Alan Tower on huaca, hang, and didjeridu, and Mark Deutsch, inventor of the bazantar. The bazantar is a five-string acoustic bass fitted with an additional 29 sympathetic strings and four drone strings. This concert will explore the intersection of science and spirit in the context of world cultures. Special guest Stephen Kent is widely regarded as one of the finest and most innovative non-aboriginal didjeridu players on the planet. Stephen has performed all over the world, most recently at the Winter Olympics in Torino. He has collaborated with many world-renowned musicians, including Airto Moreira, Zakir Hussain, Glen Velez, and Habib Koite. He recently played for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in front of 7,500 people at Stanford University. Presented by Campus Life Services Arts & Events and sponsored by the Sarah B. Childs Fund.
