Journals are shelved by call numbers beginning with W1:
Journals1st floor (compact shelving) contains volumes older than 12 months.
Current3rd floor (generally, previous 6-12 months)
Reserve3rd floor (Service Desk)

Books

Books are shelved by a Library of Congress call number, A-V, X-Z:
Call numbers A - P5th floor
Call numbers Q-Z4th floor
Reference3rd floor
History Reference3rd floor
Popular Reading3rd floor (shelved alphabetically by author)
Reserve3rd floor (Service Desk)
Browsing Room4th floor
Archives5th floor (by appointment only)
Oversized4th floor (located behind books with T call number)

Mission Bay Materials

Materials marked Mission Bay or MBCC are located at the Mission Bay Library in the William J. Rutter Community Center Building.

NRLF Materials

Lower use journals, books, and dissertations are sent to the Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF), a cooperative library facility owned and operated by the University of California. Items at NRLF can be retrieved within 4 working days.
