The Library preserves and maintains unique materials related to the history of UCSF and the history of the health sciences. Materials include UCSF Archives, manuscripts, photographs, rare books, and the East Asian Collection. Due to their unique and often fragile nature, these materials are available for access under supervised use and by appointment only, in the Phleger Rare Book Suite.
The
Tobacco Control Archives contains papers, unpublished documents, and electronic resources relevant to tobacco control issues. The UCSF Library created and hosts the
Legacy Tobacco Documents Library (LTDL) and the
British American Tobacco Archives (BATDA) which contain millions of internal corporate documents from eight tobacco organizations.
