How to Use the Library Printing Service
1. Set up a GALEN Account.
Before you can print, you will need to set up a GALEN Account online. You can register for an account at a library workstation or from any other computer with web access.
When you establish your account, you will set up a login name and password. Remember your login name and password. You will need them every time you print or add money to your account.

2. Put money in your account.
Add money online using a credit card. Minimum online deposit is $5.00.
Or, add funds in person:
  • -  Use cash, check, credit card, ATM card, or an approved departmental recharge number.
  • -  Minimum deposit is $1.00.
  • -  You will need your GALEN Account login name.
  • -  Add funds at the Parnassus Campus Library or the Library at the Community Center. At Parnassus, go to the Cashier's Window in the Copy Center on the 2nd floor. Plan ahead; the window is open limited hours.

3. Begin session on a workstation and print.
- When you are ready to print at a workstation, select the appropriate Print command. You will then be prompted for your login name and password.
- Enter the login name and password that you set up for your GALEN Account.
- Once you are logged in, a small box will appear on the screen and your document will begin printing. The box will show the number of pages you printed and the amount in your account.
- You can then continue to send print jobs to the printer. Your printing account will be debited for each page you print.

Remember to logout (click on the logout button in the box) when finished. Otherwise, the next person to use the workstation can charge printing to your account!

Privacy and Security
All of your account information will be encrypted and stored in a secure server. No data regarding the content of your search sessions will be recorded. No credit card information or other payment account numbers will be recorded in your Library Printing Account.
