    Where can I find class descriptions and schedules?

    The Library's website has complete information about our classes. Click on a class title in the calendar to read the description and register.

  • How can I find out if there is still space available in a class?
    • Classes at Parnassus and Mission Bay: call (415) 476-4519 or click on the class in the calendar to see how many seats are left.
    • Classes at SFGH: call (415) 206-3114
  • Is there any cost to attend a UCSF Library class?

    Our classes are currently free.

  • Registering for Classes

    How do I sign up for a class at Parnassus or Mission Bay?

    Visit our online class schedule. Click on a class title and then fill out the registration form. You can also call (415) 476-4519 to reserve your space.

  • How do I register for a class at SFGH?

    Please visit the Barnett-Briggs Medical Library website or call (415) 206-3114.

  • How do I register for a class at Mount Zion?

    Please email the staff at the H.M. Fishbon Memorial Library or call (415) 885-7378.

  • I'm not affiliated with UCSF. Can I still take a class at the UCSF Library?

    Some of the UCSF Library's classes are open to the general public. Before signing up for a class, please check to see whether the class description indicates that it is UCSF only. You can also call (415) 476-4519 or email us with specific questions.

    How do I set up a one-on-one consultation? (UCSF only)

    UCSF faculty, staff, and students may schedule one-on-one consultations with a librarian, for assistance in selecting databases and developing an effective search strategy.

  • I'm a UCSF faculty member. Can I have a librarian teach a session in my class?

    Yes, librarians are available to do curriculum-integrated instruction in effective literature searching skills, locating information resources in specific topic areas, and other skills related to information management. Contact us to discuss the needs of your specific course.

  • CME Credit

    Can I receive CME credit for attending a library class?

    No, the UCSF Library does not offer CME credit at this time.
