    The Library's website has complete information about our classes.

  • Can I access class materials and handouts online?
    Yes. We recommend using these online handouts and PowerPoint presentations as a supplement to our in-person classes.

    How do I sign up for a class at Parnassus or Mission Bay?
    To sign up for one of these free sessions, visit the online class schedule. Click on the [sign up] link next to the class that you wish to attend. You can also call (415) 476-4519 to reserve your space.
  • How do I register for a class at SFGH?
    To sign up for one of these free sessions, please call (415) 206-3114.
  • I'm not affiliated with UCSF. Can I still take a class at the UCSF Library?
    Many of the UCSF Library's classes are open to the general public. Before signing up for a class, please check to see whether the class description indicates that it is UCSF only. You can also call (415) 476-4519 or email us with specific questions.

    Is there any cost to attend a UCSF Library class?
    There are no fee-based classes at this time.
  • Specialized Instruction

    How do I set up a one-on-one consultation? (UCSF Only)
    UCSF faculty, staff, and students may schedule one-on-one consultations with a librarian, for assistance in selecting databases and developing an effective search strategy.
  • I'm a UCSF faculty member. Can I have a librarian teach a session in my class?
    Yes, librarians are available to do curriculum-integrated instruction in effective literature searching skills, locating information resources in specific topic areas, and other skills related to information management. to discuss the needs of your specific course.
  • CME Credit

    Can I receive CME credit for attending a library class?
    No, the UCSF Library does not offer CME credit at this time.
