Effective March 1, 2011 the UCSF Library no longer has access to this online resource.

The Medical Letter is an independent nonprofit organization that uses a consensus of experts to develop drug prescribing recommendations independent of the pharmaceutical industry.

The Medical Letter site license includes access to:

  • The Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics: providing evaluations of drugs, reviewing virtually all new drugs, and covering older drugs when new information becomes available.
  • Treatment Guidelines from the Medical Letter: featuring review articles of drug classes for treatment of common disorders.
  • Adverse Drug Interactions Program: a searchable, evidence-based database of interactions.
  • Handbook of Antimicrobial Therapy: containing articles that outline the treatment of a particular infectious agent as well as possible alternatives.
  • The Medical Letter CME Program: a self-study program providing  up-to- date unbiased drug reviews.
