Artist Sarah Sze Wins Award for NYC Installation
Artist Sarah Sze, whose large sculpture "The Distance Where Magnets Pull" (2011) enlivens the Parnassus Library's south stairwell, is among the 24 winners of the International Association of Art Critics 2011 awards for excellence in art exhibitions. As reported by the New York Times, Sze will receive the award for Best Project in a Public Space for her installation on New York's High Line.
Sze was also recently selected to represent the U.S. at the 2013 Venice Biennale.
The Library is honored to be the site of Sze's permanent installation at UCSF, and congratulates her on these high accolades.
