Bartlett's Roget's Thesaurus (Book)
Call number: PE1591 .B35 (Reference)

Provides synonyms like a standard thesaurus, plus some features of an almanac. Roget devised a conceptual (as opposed to alphabetical) thesaurus. The imagery of Bartlett's quotations adds breadth and depth to some categories, and the 100 almanac-like lists of facts, interspersed in the body, supplement the synonyms.

CINAHL ... Subject Heading List (Book)
Call number: Z695.1.N8 N87 (Information Desk)

This thesaurus contains terms used to index the professional literature of nursing and allied health.

Call number: W1 IN 117 (Book)

MeSH is the National Library of Medicine's controlled vocabulary thesaurus and is used to index the articles contained in the PubMed database. You can search this MeSH browser and find subject headings arranged in both an alphabetic and a hierarchical structure. This browser allows you to search for an exact term, or a fragment of that term.

From this MeSH database, you are able to search for subject terms, add subheadings to the term(s) and build a search to be run in PubMed. If you enter a term that is not an actual MeSH term, it will map to the closest possible heading, and/or provide a list of terms to select from.

Thesaurus search provides synonyms, antonyms, related words and contrasted words to the term being searched.

The 1995 edition of Roget's Thesaurus. Contains 35,000 synonyms in an easy-to-use format.
