Cancer: Information for Patients
Website provides a wide range of resources for both patients and health professionals. Includes information about types of cancers, treatment options, clinical trials and coping. Also has information on diet, prevention and early detection, statistics, news articles, and links to a survivors' network.
 
The AICR specializes in diet, nutrition and cancer. Website provides access to publications, healthy recipes, nutritional advice, news and research information.
 
CancerCare (Website)
Links to a number of online support groups for cancer patients. Also provides counseling services and educational programs.
 
A tool to search for ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncologists) members by name or location. The database is also searchable by specific board certification.
 
Links to discussion groups, publications, and information about how to find a hospice.
 
List of patient support organizations and contact information for all types of cancers. Can limit to specific cancers.
 
Cancer.Net (Website)
Patient information website of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). It contains information on all types of cancer, treatments, and clinical trials. Additional resources include live chats, message boards, a drug database, medical dictionary, and links to patient support organizations.
 
The Ida & Joseph Friend Cancer Resource Center provides patients, families, and others with information and treatment options, emotional support, and community resources. The CRC maintains a library of books and other media; provides access to the Web and specialized health databases; and offers personalized research assistance. The Center hosts diverse support groups, exercise classes, and workshops and directs people to other community resources.
 
Information about the cancer programs at UCSF, including scientific research, clinical research, patient care and epidemiology, prevention and control.
 
A tool that guides patients through a series of questions concerning lifestyle, diet, and other factors to assess the risk of cancer occurrence. Also includes fact sheets and risk lists on common cancers.
