Beverages in containers with lids are permitted in the Parnassus and Mission Bay Libraries and the Tech Commons computing spaces. Drinks are not permitted in the Archives & Special Collections Reading Room or in the shelving areas. Food is not permitted in any area.

Sustaining the privilege of having beverages in library and computer lab space depends on your willingness to be responsible about beverage containers, spill containment, and appropriate container disposal:

• Keep containers on desk surfaces. Do not place beverage containers on floors, chairs, copiers, computers, or other equipment.
• "No Fault" policy. Tell a library staff member immediately if there is an accident so that damaged materials can be properly treated and cleaned up.
• Clean it up. Wipe up accidents and recycle your bottles.
• Beverages only. Food is not permitted.

Anyone unwilling to comply with these rules may be asked to leave the Library.
